This is the line of furling downwind sails in our product lineup that is the most popular and the fastest-growing. We began developing our first FSL sails and conducting tests in 2018, and we were one of the first companies on the market to test this solution.

FSL is a new type of sail in which the construction of the luff allows for the elimination of the heavy anti-twist line required for traditional furling. The sail’s construction utilizes unidirectional, continuous fibers that transfer loads from the tack to the head along the natural line of stress distribution; as a result, the sail does not require extreme tension on the halyards, as is the case with sails that use a twist-stopping line. In FSL sails, the tension on the luff can be up to 30% lower than in rope sails, making these sails lighter, safer, and easier to handle.

For the 2023 season, we introduced a thin AT line to the FSL Code, Flat Reacher, and Reacher sails to increase the roll volume and prevent accidental unrolling.
