Furling Structure Luff

Furling Structure Luff

This is the line of furling full-width sails in our range, which is the most popular and fastest growing. We started our first FSL sails and tests in 2018 and were one of the first companies in the market to test this solution.

FSL is a new type of sail in which the luff design allows the elimination of the heavy anti-torsion rope needed for traditional furling. The sail design uses unidirectional, continuous fibres that transfer loads from the tack horn to the halyard along a natural line of stress distribution, so the sail does not require huge wave stresses like sails with anti-torsion rope. In FSL sails, luff stresses can be reduced by up to 30% compared to rope sails, making these sails lighter, safer and easier to handle.

For the 2023 season, we have introduced a thin AT line to the FSL Code , Flat Reacher , Reacher sails to increase furling volume and protect against accidental furling.
