A-Class Spring Regatta 2022

Team Bryt has done it again!

Congratulations to Tymoteusz Bendyk, who has just won another A-class regatta -. A-CLASS - SPRING REGATTA 2022organised by Circolo Vela Arco on Lake Garda.

Tymek and Jakub Surowiec have competed in many regattas recently - most of them dominated by the duo - but they have not raced against each other for almost a year. Nevertheless, as a development team, they exchange experiences together with Jacek.

Below is a short conversation with Tymek after the regatta.

A good fleet at the spring regatta in Arco. What was your main advantage?

"It seems that the main advantage was the reliable and well-prepared equipment - I had no problems. Manolo and Lamberto, who were pushing me hard, had problems and didn't finish all the races. I was able to find a very stable setup for sailing upwind on the foil in medium to strong winds and there I gained the most. The Bryt 2022 sail works great in these conditions."

Rumour has it that you have been testing various mast-sail combinations. What have you discovered and what is your current favourite combination?

"Yes, I did some tests with Compotech's prototype mast and Cuba's sail (POL 41). For this regatta I finally chose the tapered Fiberfoam mast and my sail (black material). I am very happy with this combination in all conditions below 18 knots. In stronger winds there is still some work to be done."

Kuba: What changes do you expect ahead of the European Championships in September?

"It's a secret for now, but we are working on the development of the mast-sail combination. As for the rig, I don't know anything about new changes. It's very rigid and reliable, and that's the most important thing right now."

The season has only just started and you and Kuba have already trained a lot at Garda. Kuba is the World Vice-Champion, you have won twice in Garda. What is the plan to stay in shape for the European Championships?

"The Polish Class A fleet is quite strong, so we are mainly planning to train in Sopot. Maybe some of us will go to the Dutch Championships. Of course, everyone is warmly invited to the Polish Championships in July."

You probably don't get such good pizza in Sopot, so do you often return to the Garda?

"Everything tastes better with a view like this. I love this place!"

It will be interesting to see how the team comes together again in Sopot after such a long break. This is the perfect time to fine-tune the equipment. The Exploder rigs continue to perform well with an improved rudder system. Cuba has already tested the Bryt Sail PinHead prototype in Houston, but so far the standard 2022 models remain unbeatable.
